Maria Stansfield MSST

Maria Stansfield

Clinical Director Maria founded SSIC in 2012 after years of working in a variety of elite sport and private clinics. Maria felt that the care that both normal clients and athletes received was inconsistent and often poor. Maria wanted to develop a Clinic that not only cared and understood, but could develop exceptional diagnostic skills and superb manual skills, with not a machine in sight. Maria has worked loyally with Wigan Warriors Rugby League team for many years and is now a Consultant Sports Therapist to the Team, the first in Rugby League.

This has also led her to work, and continue to work with England Rugby League. Along with Wigan Warriors and England, Maria has worked as Head of Medical Services at Lymm Rugby Union and InterFootball Academy. Maria also continues to work with Professional Runners, Cyclists, Boxers and Triathletes. Maria's speciality is in Ultra Endurance Events such as multi day marathons and Ironman events. Maria's favorite areas of treatment are the Shoulder, Neck and Ankle and she continues to develop her skills in the Mulligan Concept.
